Different times of the month, various medical and prescription considerations, or a taste for added zip can all leave a woman wishing for a product that makes her clit stand up and take notice.  Arousal gels and creams dialate blood vessles and wake up nerves to make us more orgasmic, but it isn’t always easy to find one with organic ingredients that is body-friendly (for most women) and works well with condoms.  Thankfully, Blossom Organics is here with just the thing.

Blossom Organics gives an organic arousal gel with some good zing

Like the lube by Blossom Organics, Pure Pleasure Arousal Gel is made with body safety and comfort in mind.  Its ingredients are organic and largely body-safe.  Unlike their natural lube, Blossom’s arousal gel does contain some glycerin; on the other hand, arousal gel is made to be used in such small quantities that this will probably only cause problems in people who are severely sensitive to this ingredient.  It’s water-based, and so is condom-compatible.
Pure Pleasure is what I’d term a medium-intensity arousal gel.  It gives a good tingle and makes touch much more intense in the applied area, which could lead to easier orgasms.  This gel has a quite stronger intensity than the Sliquid arousal gel we reviewed last year, so if you felt that the Sliquid brand wasn’t powerful enough, this may be more up your alley.  As an added nice touch, the bottle has a little pump to make it easier to get the gel out and on your fingers.
A couple of important caveats apply to all arousal gels and so should be noted for the Pure Pleasure gel as well. First, arousal gel is not lube.  It shouldn’t be used in place of lube, but rather a small amount should be added to an already pre-lubricated area.  Trying to use this as your sole or main form of lubrication will likely be uncomfortable for everyone involved.  Relatedly, arousal gels should always be applied a little bit at a time, with small extra increments added if the first wasn’t enough.  Since arousal gel gets absorbed to the body in order to work, it can’t be washed off if you end up putting on an uncomfortable amount, so it’s better to start slow.  Finally, women who are very sensitive, who have been treated for cancer (especially abdominal cancer), or menopausal and post-menopausal women may find arousal gels to be too intense or irritating due to the peppermint oils they contain.
Blossom Organics’ Pure Pleasure Arousal Gel is a solid medium-intensity arousal gel that can help stimulate and seduce your body into easier orgasms or just set your hearts and bits aflutter with happy feelings.  Unless you are several sensitive to glycerin or in the list of more sensitive populations above, this product may be just right for a sexy addition to your pleasure.

Being a lube snob, I understand how important it is to have a variety of options from which to choose the lube that’s right for you.  I’m also aware of how sensitive some people’s bodies can be to many of the ingredients common in sexual lubricants today.  That’s why I’m always glad when there’s more body-safe lubrication options put on the market. Blossom Organics’ Natural Moisturizing Lubricant is an all-natural water-based lube that is great for the average lube user and avoids using icky chemicals that are bad for your bits.

  • Type: All-natural organic lubricant, water-based, paraben-free, glycerin-free, artificial frangrance, dye, and flavoring-free

Blossom Organics' Natural Moisturizing Lubricant is a body-safe, slightly sweet water-based lube

Blossom Organics’ Natural Moisturizing Lubricant comes in a 4 oz. squeeze bottle that is fairly easy to open with your fingers and, in a pinch, can be popped open on a table edge.  It’s water-based and, as you might guess from the name, made from all-natural ingredients.  That means it’s free of parabens, glycerin, petrochemicals, hormones, and artificial perfumes and flavors.  It has aloe to help with moisturizing, and is stated to be pH-balanced specifically for the vaginal environment.

So, that’s all the stats about what it’s made from; just as important, of course, is how well it works.  Blossom Organics’ lube is totally clear and slightly viscous.  It’s got a little bit more thickness than some water-based lubes that are totally runny, but it doesn’t have the more hefty thickness of gel-form lubes.  There’s little if any smell, but the lube does have a lightly sweet taste to it (probably due to the natural stevia, which is an all-natural sugar substitute).  It’s got decent staying power, and is fine for the typical lube user.  As a water-based lube, it’s condom-safe.  It’s not thick or sustainable enough for more demanding forms of sex, such as fisting or rough anal sex, but it’s an excellent lube for more day-to-day lube usage.  Our testers here at EI didn’t report any troubles with the lube getting crumbly or tacky, but we’ve seen other reviews around the web that have had this problem.

Unless you want a totally flavor-free lube (in which case the lightly sweet taste of this one may not be your desire), Blossom Organics’ Natural Moisturizing Lubricant is a fine water-based lube that won’t put any nasty chemicals in your body or leave your delicate bits irritated.

Sweet Beauty's Chocolate Massage Oil smells delicious and feels delightful

I have made it clear how absolutely entranced I was with the smell of Sweet Beauty’s Chocolate Body Cream, and how impressed I was at the high quality of the lotion itself.  At the end of my review, I noted that it could be used for sensual back rubs or other massages.  Well, Sweet Beauty has gone one step further and also released a Chocolate Massage Oil specifically for romantic, deliciously-scented relaxation!

As with Sweet Beauty’s body cream, this chocolate massage oil is derived from all-natural, vegan ingredients and wasn’t tested on animals.  Its entrancing smell is derived from organic fair-trade chocolate.  Its aroma is reminiscent of a rich dark chocolate, not a sugary milk chocolate confection.  It also has just a hint of vanilla in its scent.  The smell in the massage oil is a bit less strong than the scent in the body cream, which means that you can use a large helping of it during a massage without the smell becoming overpowering.  There’s nothing toxic in the product, but it isn’t designed to be edible, and it shouldn’t be used as a sexual lubricant.  Finally, since it doesn’t contain any preservatives, the oil has a shelf life of 6-months.  This probably won’t make any difficulty, however, since it’s a high-quality product that you will likely use up well before that deadline!

Like the body cream, this product doesn’t depend only on its yummy scent, but is also a high-quality product in its on right.  This oil has a nice “glide” to it; it makes the skin slippery enough for a good massage without feeling too slick or leaving the body oily for a long time afterward.  I found that it gives the skin just a touch of shine and glow, leaving it attractive and well-moisturized.  It works excellently as a massage oil, but could also be used simply to moisturize and brighten your skin.  Overall, this would make an excellent, seductive oil for a sensual massage with some scent play, or just as an oil to use as a skin moisturizer and perfume!

There are a lot of scented body oils on the market for sensual products that are meant for use with massage or just some loving touch in non-intimate areas.  Very few, however, have managed to so fully seduce my nose as Sweet Beauty’s Chocolate Body Cream.  This organic, fair-trade chocolate-based lotion not only has one a delicious scent, it is also a high-quality body lotion in its own right.

  • Toy:  Chocolate Body Cream (sent by for review)
  • Type: Lotion, organic, chocolate
  • Manufacturer: Sweet Beauty
  • Material: Various organic/fair-trade ingredients; see the Babeland page for full list
  • Price: $22 (for 8 oz. container)

Get seduced by the delicious smell of Sweet Beauty's Chocolate Body Cream

Before getting too far into this review, it is important to note that Sweet Beauty’s decadent smelling skin moisturizing product is strictly a body lotion and is not intended as an edible or sexual lubricant.  Enjoy its delicious smell, but don’t try to put it in your mouth or any other orifi!

The wonderful chocolate aroma in Sweet Beauty’s Chocolate Body Cream actually comes from the organic fair trade cocoa that is used as an ingredient, and not from perfume oils. Also included are  other good things such as grape seed oil and Shea butter, as well as other types of seed oils. The best way to describe the delectable fragrance is to compare it to rich, dark, chocolate hot cocoa, without the sugary smell.

The very thick creamy lotion with moisturizers offers long lasting aroma, even when used in small amounts on dry areas,  leaving the skin soft and comfortable for those of us who enjoy a sensual back rub, experience dry skin from allergies or winter weather, or want to pamper tired and calloused feet.  Since the cream is made from natural ingredients and comes with an expiration date, it is a good idea to keep it in a cool place for storage. Sweet Beauty’s cream is recommended to those who are particularly picky about their use of lotions, since it is not only wonderful-smelling but a high-quality lotion.

Sweet Beauty Chocolate Body Cream is a superior quality skin moisturizer with an amazing scent (that is, again, not meant to be eaten or used as a sex lubricant). Did I mention how good this stuff smells?!   It also makes a wonderful romantic gift, particularly if it comes with a free back massage!

Sliquid is back again to prove that just because something is good for you, doesn’t mean it can’t be spicy and exciting!  Their vegan, organic, all-natural Stimulating O Gel is free of paraben, glycerine, and gluten, to make sure it doesn’t introduce anything your body won’t like while still giving you the zing you want.

  • Toy:  Organic Stimulating O Gel (sent by for review)
  • Type: Stimulation gel, organic, paraben-free, glycerine-free, gluten-free
  • Manufacturer: Sliquid
  • Material: Water-based, peppermint and menthol, natural oils
  • Price: $19
  • SMT rating: N/A

Sliquid's all-natural Stimulating O Gel is effective but not overwhelming

Sliquid is a manufacturer that consistently makes intimate lubricants that are body-safe.  Their Stimulating O Gel is no exception; this clitoral stimulation gel is organic and made entirely from natural products (it’s vegan!) to ensure that it doesn’t cause any infections or other problems with our sensitive genital regions.  This means that it is paraben and glycerine free, as well as gluten-free.  The clear gel has a light minty smell that is quite pleasant.

The minty ingredients give Sliquid’s O Gel a mild tingly sensation when applied to the clitoral and vulvar regions.  As always, we recommend that you start small when applying a stimulator gel; it’s better to want more and have to go back for seconds than to feel overwhelmed and have to wait for it to wear off!  Sliquid’s O Gel is actually quite a bit milder than many other menthol-based stimulator gels on the market, meaning that there’s less of a danger of starting too heavy with it.  Its subtler build-up means it is easier to warm up with than some of its non-organic competitors.  The O Gel makes a great intimacy accessory for women with performance anxiety, or who are taking medication or have other medical issues that make it difficult to get aroused, feel stimulation, or orgasm.

An important safety note is that the use of O Gel, or any other stimulator gel, is not recommended if the recipient has been recently treated for cancer.  Additionally, anyone that is allergic or sensitive to menthol or peppermint should likewise avoid this product.  Finally, since it has many oils in its ingredients list, Sliquid’s O Gel is not latex condom safe.

Sliquid’s O Gel is a great body-safe addition to your bedside table to add just a little bit of spicy feeling to intimate play with yourself or your partner.  Since it is subtler than many other stimulator gels, it is particularly recommended as a good starting point because it is harder to overwhelm yourself with too much at once.
