Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Female Orgasms is the Perfect Combination of Sexy and Smart

In spite of all the bad press, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the world is full of amazing guys who really care about pleasuring their partners.  Yes, that even includes straight guys!  At a recent workshop for men with female partners, I reviewed twelve top myths about male sexuality that I see as a coach.  When it came time to talk about the specifics of anatomy, pleasure, and technique, I wanted to make sure that guys would have resources they could use at home, too. So, I passed this DVD around and suggested that they each consider getting a copy for themselves and their sweeties.  I don’t usually recommend a specific product (versus a general range of products) at my workshops, but this video is such an excellent blend of sexiness, education, and comfortable tone, there just isn’t anything better on the topic.

Tristan Taormino is known for her excellent and sexy educational videos, and she continues to impress me with the quality of her DVD offerings.  This recent video offering from Vivid Video is a guide to female pleasure and orgasm, and it is the best one of its type that I have seen.  It starts with great discussions of technique and then some sexy interviews, followed by long explicit scenes featuring authentic female pleasure, one couple at a time.

The Expert Guide features an ethnically diverse cast made up of popular stars from both the mainstream heterosexual and queer porn worlds.  It’s full of accurate, concise information on the female anatomy and orgasm, with both male/female and female/female couples demonstrating their chemistry, arousal, and orgasms in a very female-centric manner.  As you might guess, the video has a huge emphasis on female orgasm; it’s the centerpiece of the explicit scenes, with only two male orgasms taking place during the entire DVD and no facial come shots.  Since the female performers in this video chose their partners for their scenes, the chemistry shows in their genuine interactions.  There are also a lot of extras with information on toys, Kegel exercises, masturbation and other related topics.

There is very little negative to say about the Expert Guide to Female Orgasms.  Those who are simply watching to see women getting off will need to do some fast-forwarding to get past the educational beginning, but the sexy explicit scenes are worthwhile even if they are the only portion you watch; it’s tough to find real female orgasms in porn, and so exciting and refreshing to see such powerful ones as are on this DVD.  Also, while the body types of the performers are diverse, there aren’t any particularly fat cast members, so those who are interested in bodies with more cushion may feel a bit left out.

Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Female Orgasms is one of my most highly recommended educational videos.  It’s absolutely perfect for couples with a female partner to watch and enjoy together in order to learn about her pleasure.  I’d be surprised to hear from anyone who can make it to the end of the video without trying some of its suggestions themselves before it’s over!

The Amor from Over the Rainbow

Sometimes, the perfect penis is an absolutely average-sized one.  You mean, you gotta figure that Mother Nature knew what she was doing with the design specs, there.  However, I do have to admit that a dildo with rainbow stripes might even be  a little bit extra-perfect.  No offense, Mother Nature!  So, is the Rainbow Amor the most perfect penis of all?  Read on to find out.

Fun Factory spoils us so.  Not only do they may fantastic, body-friendly and oh-so-good toys, they’re now releasing a delightfully colorful version of their Amor dildo: it’s the Rainbow Amor!

Other than the beautiful coloring (and, seriously, look at how cute and pretty that is), what makes the Rainbow Amor so great?  It’s made from medical-grade silicone, so it’s body-friendly, but it has some give that is reminiscent of old-school extra-firm jelly toys without all the health risks.  It has a soft, flexible flared base that is comfortable against the pubic bone when worn in a strap-on harness.  Its curved shape is moderate but noticeable, gives nice G-spot pressure, and feels filling without being a large toy.  For those who prefer a more realistic size, the Amor is 5.5″ long and 1.5″ wide, which is about the national average for penis size.

And, finally: HELLO, IT IS RAINBOW-COLORED.  How awesome is that?

There aren’t any downsides to the Rainbow Amor, per se, but it may have some features which bother you depending on your personal taste.  First, since it’s about average for real penis sizes, it’s a bit on the small side, especially lengthwise, with regards to its size compared to other dildos.  Also, if you prefer your dildos to look realistic, clearly the rainbow coloring of this toy might be too much for you.  Since it’s a smooth, non-textured shape, this also makes it a less realistic toy.  And, finally, it’s worth repeating that since this is a silicone toy, it is not compatible with silicone lubricants.

Overall, the Rainbow Amor is a great dildo.  Not only is it a nice, friendly, average-size with a good shape for G-spot stimulation and pleasant, giving texture, it is also a beautiful rainbow color that pretty much guarantees it will be the belle of the ball at any Pride celebration.

The Sport Sheets Thigh Harness opens up possibilities for lots of fun, sensual positions

Let’s face it–many fun-seeming sex positions are, in fact, difficult to get into and uncomfortable to use.  There are entire lines of sex cushions and other products that assist in achieving a greater variety of sexual positions, but sometimes the problem isn’t getting your and your sweetie’s bodies into the correct positions, but rather the inability to achieve penetration once you’re there.  Straddling a seated partner, for example, may not work as well as you’d hope if one or both of you have a larger belly, or the seated partner isn’t overly well-endowed.  Well, thanks to Sport Sheets, you and your partner can now try a whole gamut of new positions, using their comfortable and sexy thigh harness!
The Sport Sheets thigh harness is a stretchy black neoprene wrap with Velcro to attach it to itself.  It can fit up to a 21″ thigh, and has an opening that allows dildos of up to 1″ wide (if they have enough of a base to be strap-on compatible).  The neoprene is washable (a must for any useful sex accessory), and the wrap is easy to put on and comfortable to wear.  It holds the dildo solidly against the thigh so that you don’t have difficulty with a wobbly toy making penetration difficult.   While it goes up to 21″, the harness’s design makes it easily fit a variety of thigh sizes up to that maximum.
Used on the thigh, the Sport Sheets harness opens up a lot of seriously hot positions.  You can get the sexiest lap dance ever from your partner as they ride the dildo on your toy, or you can use the harness to make face-to-face grinding intercourse easier by avoiding the back strain of grinding your hips for a long period of time.  Furthermore, a creative mind can find other places to put the harness, either on a person, or on objects such as a pillow or stuffed animal to allow for fun solo play.  People with limited mobility may also find the thigh harness useful for allowing penetration with less full-body movement required.
The Sport Sheets harness is excellently made.  The only major qualm that one might have is that it only accepts dildos that are up to 1″ wide, so those with a favorite large toy won’t be able to use it with this.  The neoprene gets a little nappy and fuzzy where it has been attached to the Velcro–this doesn’t make any functional difference, but for those super-concerned about aesthetics, it may be bothersome.  Other than that, the Sport Sheets is a sexy, fun accessory that can introduce a lot of variety in positioning and activities for both partnered and solo play.

Sliquid Swirls Strawberry and Pomegranate into a Sweet Lube

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is pomegranates.  No joke!  I buy them by the half-dozen and enjoy eating each little tasty jewel one at a time in the evening.  So I’m proud to say that I’m part of the recent trend of pomegranate-happy consumers.  As such, I was overjoyed to see a pom-strawberry flavored lube from one of my favorite brands, Sliquid.

Sliquid Swirl Strawberry Pomegranate is sweet and tasty

Those familiar with Sliquid products won’t be surprised to hear that their Swirl Strawberry Pomegranate is a lube that works great and is body-happy.  It’s free of glycerine, sugar, parabens, gluten, and is vegan, so it’s just fine to use for whatever intimate purposes you intend.  It has a strong, enticing fruit smell that isn’t overpowering.  Its taste is sweet without being syrupy, and it blends well with the natural intimate taste of a woman, which makes it an excellent lube to use if oral sex is on the menu.  Plus, since it’s more high-quality than many flavored lubes, it’s adequate for other types of sex beside, as well.  Finally, the bottle is cute and nicely packaged, so you can leave it on your bedside table without scandalizing the babysitter.

Those who like a thinner, lighter lube will be pleased as pomegranate punch with Sliquid Swirl.  Those who enjoy thicker, more ultra-slick lubes, however, may want to use Sliquid Swirl for oral play and add a gel water-based lube for penetration.  Sliquid Swirl does pretty well, but most flavored lubes tend to have a thinner consistency and are better at tasting than lubricating, and that rule still applies somewhat here.

Still, Sliquid Swirl is a sweet-smelling and -tasting lube that is great for oral sex, and those who tend toward thinner lubes will find it also appropriate for penetration, as well.

Liberator Heart Wedge gets your hips in place

Liberator has been selling a wide range of big ol’ sex positioning cushions for some time now.  But recently, they’ve also started selling cute little sex cushions that can blend in with your bedding, but still give your derrière a lift.  The Liberator Heart Wedge is, appropriately enough, a small, heart-shaped wedge cushion that can help female receivers angle their hips for more comfortable penetration or better G-spot stimulation, and make it easier on a thrusting partner’s back regardless of whose genitals are where.

The Liberator Heart Wedge is an adorable and comfortable way to give just a little bit more height to your hips

For most people, the Liberator brand name brings to mind big sex-positioning cushions on which a person can fit most or all of their body.  But they’ve begun branching into smaller, more travel-friendly positioning pillows, of which their Heart Wedge is an excellent example.  The Heart Wedge is, unsurprisingly, a cute heart shape, with the point end lower to the ground and the rounded ends about 7″ high.  It’s 13″ x 19″ at its widest points, so it’s just big enough to fit under someone’s butt and hips, and wouldn’t look out of place on a couch or a bed as an accent pillow.
The Heart Wedge comes with two covers, one of which is removable and machine-washable, and the one underneath, which is water-resistant.  This makes for easy cleanup, adding to the Heart Wedge’s usefulness as a simple travel cushion.  It comes in red and black, and the cover has a nice velvety feel.   It’s just right for getting the receiver’s hips up slightly to ease penetration in a face-to-face position.
The Heart works best on stable surfaces, like a firm bed or the floor. On more wobbly surfaces, it proves itself to be a bit unstable.  Some testers felt comfortable and stable on the cushion, but others felt a bit in danger of tipping over; watch the video to get a better low-down on what testers thought.  Since it’s a small cushion, it doesn’t make a huge difference in the height of the hips–a few inches at most–and isn’t useful for propping up the hips for doggy-style sex.  This isn’t a flaw so much as a simple factor of its size; bigger Liberator cushions are available for those to whom these aspects are important.
The Heart Wedge is a cute, portable and easy to use and clean sex cushion that helps with those “not quite right” positioning situations.  It doesn’t lend itself to the more aerobatic positions that larger Liberator cushions advertise, but it’s a nice little accessory to help with face-to-face penetration and to spice up your bed.

The Tantus Mark shows there’s nothing wrong with average

Sometimes, a girl wants a big, sparkly, crazy, purple schlong to wear while parading around the house as a mystical unicorn.  Other times, she knows that the best silicone dildo is one that blends in with the crowd by being delightfully realistic, of average size, and a lovely combination of form and function.  Glitter and swirls have their place, but if you’re looking for a high-quality dildo that has those realistic attributes and won’t intimidate your crush when you stand next to him at the urinal, this might be just the one you’re looking for!

It may be average in terms of size, but for realism and delightfulness, the Mark is anything but

The Mark dildo by Tantus is in some ways a breath of fresh air in the world of sex toys: it’s surprisingly difficult to find a good, realistic dildo that isn’t significantly larger-than-average in terms of length and/or girth.  Thankfully, Mark is not only incredibly realistic looking and feeling, it’s also of a nice, average size, making it pleasant to use and to wear without being intimidating or requiring extensive warm-up.

Like the Vixskin Bandit, the Mark is made from two layers of silicone: a hard silicone inside, and softer, more flexible silicone outside.  This gives it a surprisingly realistic feel, and the carefully detailed outside (complete with veins and faux urethral opening) match the texture with lifelike visuals.  At about 6″ long and 1.5″ wide, the Tantus Mark is quite close to the average American penis size.  It has a flared base that is strap-on harness-compatible.  Since it’s made from silicone, it’s easy to clean and sterilize and is safe to use with any water-based lubes (but don’t use silicone lubes with it).

Thanks to the dual-silicone nature of the Mark, it’s realistic feeling.  This also gives it some flexibility, so it’s easy to get the angle right and find a comfortable fit for the toy.  (For comparison with the Vixskin Bandit, the Mark felt a little firmer and less flexible than the Bandit; however, since the Bandit is much larger than the Mark, it’s difficult to tell whether that’s due to size or brand.)  Again, it’s difficult to overstate how nice and realistic the toy looks and feels.  The only slightly unrealistic look to the toy comes from its shiny head, but this may be a plus for people who don’t want their toy to look too real. The shininess of the head also makes it a nice attention-drawer.  The flared base makes the Mark perfect for putting in a strap-on harness, as well as making it safe for anal play.

The only downside that you might find with the Mark is if you’re looking for a realistic harness-compatible dildo that also has a realistic scrotum and testicles, since Mark lacks these attributes.  But if you don’t like that sort of thing, then their absence is a plus.  Other than that, the Mark is a nice, basic, realistic and nicely average-sized dildo with the added complexity and enjoyment of the double-silicone layers to give it a sexy feel.
